AJ Dakoulas AJ Dakoulas hails from Vermont and is now based in Park City, UT. He got his start shooting skiing in 2005 when he co-founded the production company 4BI9 Media. He now heads up filming and editing for Good Company films and makes sure to snap some photos of his travels along the way. Heather Hansman Heather Hansman has spent the last 15 years writing her way through the outdoors and currently resides in Seattle. Prior to that, she picked up and moved from New England into the mountains of Colorado to be a ski bum, raft guide and aspiring dirtbag. Author of the book Down River, Heather hunts the connection between outdoors adventure and the issues that impact our everyday lives. Whether it be climate change, culture, or the future of water, Heather is always thinking just around the bend. Donny O’Neill Donny O’Neill is a freelance writer and photographer who most recently served as editor-in-chief at FREESKIER. An avid backcountry skier, O’Neill is most at home finding time for reflection on the skin track, and, preferably, in the white room, around his adopted home of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Having taken photos all over the world, his most spiritual moment spent behind the lens was a calm night under the full moon at the Laguna del Inca at Portillo, Chile, where the spirits of the Andes seemed to be all around him. He lives in Denver, CO, with his wife, Lexie, and dog, Bart. Clare Menzel Clare Menzel is an East Coast skier who grew up and moved west like many before her. She thought she’d stay for just one season, but after falling in love with Montana’s mountains and community, she never left, and now lives in Bozeman, MT. Clare’s byline also appears in Powder, Kootenay Mountain Culture, Flathead Living and other print publications. She likes making kinetic mobiles with river sticks, reading tarot and a smooth J-stroke. Ryan Taylor Ryan is an independent ski guide and exploration geologist based in Hokkaido, Japan. He hunts for Earth’s finest powder by winter and highest-grade gold by summer. Ryan enjoys long walks with his skis, especially in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, where he is originally from. Avoiding popular and famous destinations, he gravitates toward steep lines in wild settings. He avoids the term “first descent” because you never really know. Ryan has skied unknown lines in New Zealand, Japan, Greenland, and Tajikistan and says his favorite sake is Otokoyama—served cool.
