01 Frederick Reimers

Frederick Reimers was literally raised at summer camp. His father’s position of director of Keewaydin Canoe Camp in Temagami, ON naturally led him to a career guiding for Colorado Outward Bound in Utah, Alaska, Colorado and Mexico. Once the itinerant lifestyle got old, he opened up his laptop and started writing for publications like Outside, Men’s Journal, Bloomberg Business, Ski and Canoe and Kayak, where he served as editor. Reimers now lives in Jackson, WY, where he continues to write and chase long days in the mountains or on the river.

02 Nancy Prichard Bouchard

Nancy Prichard Bouchard grew up with six sisters in an Oregon farm family. Her first articles were written to support her academic habit: she holds a doctorate in history from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She learned to ski in the Oregon Cascades, and relied on secondhand equipment for the first 30 years of her career. A former professional climber, Bouchard met her husband while the two competed in ice climbing at the first Winter X Games. Bouchard has written for dozens of outdoor, travel and fitness magazines and blogs, including Outside, Men’s Journal, USA Today, National Geographic and Playboy. While she segued from academics to journalism, Bouchard’s articles blend a sense of historical perspective with her favorite topics—local and international travel, sports, social and environmental stewardship, personality profiles and advancements in sporting equipment. Bouchard and her husband, Dr. John Bouchard, have three daughters who share their passion for the outdoors and intellectual pursuits.

03 Alex Moreno

Alex Moreno is a writer and photographer born, bred and based in the gritty city of Tacoma, WA. A hand-me-down film camera from his older sister eventually led him to study visual journalism at Bellingham, WA’s Western Washington University when he wasn’t searching for double-ejected skis in Mt. Baker powder. When not at home in a staring contest with Spike, his red-eared slider turtle, Alex can be found somewhere in the outdoors looking to tell a story through writing, photos, or over a few beers. He’s locked in a perpetual search for savvy sentence structure, the perfect shutter speed and a mean burrito. Catch up with Alex on Instagram at @modrizzz.

04 Mali Noyes

Hailing from Sun Valley, ID, Mali Noyes grew up Nordic skiing and went on to race for the University of Utah’s Division I ski team. After graduation, she wanted to try the ski-bum life, and so with her mom’s hand-me-down skis and boots, she dove into powder skiing. After falling in love with downhill and backcountry skiing, she now lives in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon, where she balances working as a professional skier, ultra-runner and nurse. Mali’s writing has been published in Ascent and Rafting Magazine and she has participated in the Ascent Speaker Series and Utah Adventure Journal Speaker Series. Through her writing and storytelling, Mali wants to help inspire and motivate young girls to lead and push themselves in the world of outdoor sports.

05 Scott Bellow

A Jersey boy at heart, Scott Bellow quickly realized that the ocean was not enough, and, in 2010, pursued his dream to explore the vast, mountainous landscapes of Colorado. After deciding to call Vail his new home, photography evolved from passion to profession. Whether it’s an exotic animal, a dramatic landscape, or a real estate shot, he prides himself in being diverse and open to any aspect of making imagery. He considers ski photography his true calling, and has published work with FREESKIER, Powder and Vail-Beaver Creek Magazine.
