“In the Selkirks, we often get bands of moisture and active weather following a big dump—it’s relatively rare to have really deep snow under bluebird skies. After a couple of feet fell it was crispy blue this day, but the next system was arriving with big winds. We toured into the alpine above Whitewater Resort, BC to find roaring winds buffing out the storm snow. Within an hour of this turn by Sam Woodward, the surface was covered in cardboard sastrugi.” Photo: Steve Ogle
