“In 1989, Verbier was having a bad winter and Clambin Production Co. was taking off,” Kvale says. “We had heard of Kashmir, India and quietly secured just enough sponsorship to go. We started a pool among the crew and chipped in to surprise Marko Shapiro with a plane ticket to join. We mainly went as a group of friends for adventure— we made a little movie, and we got the hell out of dodge.
