With such a good weather window during our Katahdin trip, there was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get a photo of the Milky Way rising above Katahdin’s famous Knife Edge ridgeline. Andrew Drummond and I hiked up to Hamlin Peak at 1 a.m., set up our cameras, and caught a few cold hours of sleep under totally clear skies and no wind.
