CONTRIB UTORS 01 02 03 04 JACK FOERSTERLING ( 01) Jack Foersterling was born in the Midwest and resides in Crested Butte, CO. A journalist by trade, he is currently the copywriter and editor at PeopleForBikes, a national bicycling advocacy organization. His previous work has appeared in the pages of Powder , Freeskier , and Ski . Foersterling spends the warmer months riding his bikes and attempting to enjoy hiking. Once the snow starts falling, you’ll find him putting the “beer” in beer league hockey and pretending he didn’t learn to ski by watching edits on Newschoolers in college. AARON THEISEN ( 03 ) Aaron Theisen is an outdoors writer and photographer whose work has appeared in Freehub , Mountain Flyer , Powder , and this journal, among others. His passions can be found in the big peaks and small towns of the Northern Rockies. When he’s not search-ing for obscure trails or sampling local dive bars, Theisen can be found mountain biking and skiing around his hometown of Spokane, WA. TOM WINTER ( 04 ) A lifelong skier, Tom Winter spent more than 30 years in edito-rial, marketing, media and branding roles in the ski industry. The founding editor of Freeze Magazine , Tom has held senior editorial positions at both Powder and Freeskier and was a four-time winner of the National Association of Snowsports Journalists’ Howard Hirsch award for ski photography. Tom’s photography and writing has been published by ESPN , The Los Angeles Times , Outside and many other editorial and commercial clients. Tom retired from his career in the ski industry in 2021 to pursue a lifelong love affair with architecture and design, and is currently enmeshed in his latest design-build project in the Italian Alps. JAKE STRASSMAN ( 02 ) After growing up on the rope tows of Minnesota, Jake Strassman turned his home video hobby into a career. His early years filming for Windells Camp during the summers at Mount Hood, OR, led to winters working with Level 1 Productions and Line Skis, as well as filming videos for X Games Real Ski and Line Traveling Circus. Now living in Colorado, Strassman is always on snow, even without his camera, touring in the backcountry, lapping the resort or hitting a backyard rail with friends.
