CONTRIB UTORS 01 02 03 04 05 KIT DESLAURIERS ( 01) Professional ski mountaineer Kit DesLauriers is a member of the US Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and an 18-year veteran of The North Face Global Athlete Team. She was the first person to ski from each of the Seven Summits and is the author of a memoir about the experience, Higher Love: Climbing and Skiing the Seven Summits . Kit has skied the Grand Teton 13 times, including solo and once with her good friend Hilaree Nelson, with whom she also skied the highest mountains of the Brooks Range in Alaska. She enjoys rock climbing, trail running with her golden retrievers, and advocating for wild places as a board member for Alaska Wilderness League. Kit lives in Jackson, WY, with her two daughters and husband. ANDREW NAPIER ( 04 ) TOM KELLY ( 02 ) As the longtime head of communications for the U.S. Ski & Snow-board Team, Tom Kelly was in the finish line for over 75 medals at 10 different Winter Olympics. Today he works out of his Park City, UT, home as a communications professional, podcaster and writer, with his work appearing in SKI , Ski Racing , NSAA Journal and the local Park Record . When he’s not creating, you can find him on the hill or training his camera on the Wasatch and the surrounding area. Andrew Napier is a skier, filmmaker and photographer who resides in Salt Lake City. His career highlights are filming nine full-length movies with 4BI9 Media, winning the 2013 TGR Co-Lab with Dale Talkington and a CLIO award for excellence in international advertising and communications. Andrew spends every spare moment he can in the wilderness, hiking and taking photos. BEN WANNAMAKER ( 05 ) Writer and artist Ben Wannamaker lives in Toronto and has been a traveling journalist for nearly 20 years. His work has been featured in Concrete Wave , Later , Very Nearly Almost , Cannabis Culture , Bra-voSki Japan , Jacker, Mountain Life and many more. After 10 years in Whistler as an athlete with Liberty Skis and two years as head digger at the late Camp of Champions, he began writing dystopian fiction ( Steal Away Golden Calf 2016, 2021) and making sculpture and paintings in his art studio by the beach. Wannamaker is cur-rently working on a solo art show in Toronto and can be found in the studio, swimming in a large body of water or skateboarding in the streets of downtown. FRANÇOIS MARCLAY ( 03 ) François Marclay is a forensic scientist working in anti-doping in professional cycling during the week, and a snowboarder captur-ing Laurent De Martin and other skiers doing stunts on weekends at home in Switzerland’s Région Dents du Midi. You can find him eating pizza for breakfast, getting face shots while standing sideways, bombing downhill on two wheels, grinding coffee beans while half-asleep at the campground, or luring a fish into grabbing a dry fly on the surface of an alpine stream. 098 The Ski Journal
