Perched on a small terrace at an elevation of 5,374 feet and inaccessible by road, Mürren, Switzerland is regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in the Alps. The area has been a popular mountaineering destination since the mid-1800s, but it was only with the arrival of some snow-savvy Brits in the early 1900s that Mürren truly became a cradle of ski civilization.
