Pär Hägglund is one of the strongest skiers I know—he’s solid in all dis-ciplines and always aware of where he needs to be in front of my lens. He’s also a great filmer with an eye for composition, which helps. Working with Hägglund is a process of two skiers and two photographers working toward a singular shot. A chaotic image from the backstreets of Tokyo, taken with my own invention, the “photo time machine” lens mount. Even though it’s an image of static buildings, for me this shot represents the overwhelming vastness of the city.
